Lake District Landscape Photography Workshop with Brian Austwick
This landscape photography workshop gives you an insight into the basic skills needed to take advantage of the real power of a modern Digital SLR camera.
Beginners Landscape Photography Workshops in the Lake District
Landscape photography is sometimes seen as a dark art. Fear of failure or the missed shot tends to have the owners of even the most expensive DSLR cameras falling back on full auto mode. As the owner of one of these incredibly capable cameras, you might feel overwhelmed by the apparent complexity of manual settings. Relying solely on auto mode limits your creativity. In turn, you will never fully enjoy the artistic possibilities that your camera offers. Photographic Creations understands the challenges faced by beginners. We are committed to helping you master your DSLR camera in a supportive, hands-on learning environment during our Lake District landscape photography workshops.
These day workshops give you the opportunity to explore the multiple modes of your camera. You will gain insight into how your host for the day, Brian, finds viewpoints to reinterpret classic views and how he uses his camera equipment to create fresh landscape imagery from locations that have been photographed millions of times already.
Getting to Know Your Camera’s Capabilities
We help you to familiarise yourself with your camera. Learn to embrace the power of Manual Modes and the advantages of taking control of your camera settings. Focusing on Focus you will learn about the different autofocus modes and techniques. We’ll aim to help you capture sharp, in-focus images every time during your Lake District photography workshops. On your photography course we will show you how to enhance your photographic storytelling by understanding the principles of composition, such as depth of field. the Rule of Thirds, leading lines, and framing techniques, as you capture your own vision of the beauty of the Lake District.

Clothing
It’s the Lake District – so be prepared. Waterproofs and warm layers are essential on most occasions along with sun protection when we are pleasantly surprised by good weather. We won’t be far from roads and paths, but the perfect perspective may be the hillock across the bog. So good walking footwear or wellies are essential.
