This photograph reveals how the captivating Haweswater Reservoir in the Lake District reveals its intriguing nature. It is always a pleasure to come here to see if the water level has gone down and reveal the lost village of Mardale Green. We come here quite frequently as we don’t live far away from this Lakeland beauty spot. We have often seen the old walls and parts of old buildings during the summer months. The original buildings were blown up by the MOD for practice. However, you can still see the old fireplaces and get a small glimpse of how the village once looked. As a landscape photographer photographing this piece of history does indeed fill me with a sense of awe. I have come back home with some amazing images of Haweswater Reservoir and the lost village of Mardale Green.
